About Us
At BIA (BioIndustry Association), we deliver some of the UK’s most respected life sciences events—ranging from gala dinners, leadership conferences, and expert roundtables to hands-on boot camps, networking socials, and live webinars. Backed by our strong community and trusted brand, our events bring industry professionals together to share knowledge, make connections, and shape the future of life sciences.

We’re looking for an experienced and creative Events Manager to join our team and lead the planning, promotion, and delivery of a diverse event portfolio. This is a great opportunity to bring fresh ideas, deliver high-quality events, and contribute to the growth of an exciting, impactful organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, budget, and manage a portfolio of live and virtual events throughout the year.
  • Work with the Head of Events to define event goals and deliver outcomes to budget.
  • Develop agendas and secure high-quality speakers in collaboration with the Programme Manager.
  • Source venues, online platforms, and coordinate with suppliers and contractors.
  • Oversee event branding and collateral in partnership with the Marketing team.
  • Draft marketing emails and compelling event copy to drive interest and registration.
  • Track event progress, registrations, and finances; report regularly to the Head of Events.
  • Oversee event logistics, delegate management, and on-the-day execution.
  • Secure and manage event sponsors to achieve income targets.
  • Gather and evaluate feedback to continuously improve attendee experience.
  • Maintain and update event content on the BIA website and microsites.
  • Use Eventfolio and MS Dynamics to manage bookings and event data.
  • Support and collaborate with fellow events team members when required.

What We’re Looking For
Essential:

  • A degree or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years’ event management experience.
  • Proven experience in both live and virtual events (e.g. Zoom webinars).
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication—both written and verbal.
  • Confident liaising with stakeholders and speakers at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with CMS/web platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics and webinar platforms.
  • Experience with membership organisations or trade associations.
  • Interest in the life sciences, healthcare, or public policy sectors.
  • Experience working with sponsors and corporate partners.

What We Offer

  • A hybrid work model with flexibility (3 days in-office, 2 from home).
  • A supportive, inclusive workplace that values diversity and professional growth.
  • The opportunity to shape sector-leading events and grow your career in life sciences.
