Business Strategist – Cambridge University Press & Assessment

Salary: £43,800 – £58,500 per annum
Location: Cambridge, UK (Hybrid working)
Contract: Permanent, Full-time, 35 hours per week

Cambridge University Press & Assessment, part of the University of Cambridge, is seeking a Business Strategist with strong financial modelling, analytical expertise, and strategic thinking skills. In this pivotal role, you’ll help shape and deliver our corporate strategy, providing evidence-based insights to support decision-making and long-term planning.

About the Role
As a Business Strategist, you will gain an in-depth understanding of our organisation, markets, competition, operating contexts, people, and data. You will combine this knowledge with creativity and logic to deliver strategic analyses, reports, and recommendations on our most important business challenges.

You’ll work closely with the Strategy Team and senior executives, undertaking analysis, report writing, presenting, project planning, and co-ordinating strategic initiatives. This role also offers opportunities to lead key projects across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities of Business Strategist:

  • Conduct strategic analysis using both financial and qualitative data.
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc strategy reports for corporate management.
  • Support senior leadership teams with strategy development and implementation.
  • Identify insights to guide sustainable growth and global educational impact.

About You
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, motivated self-starter with excellent organisational and communication skills. You’ll be adept at distilling large volumes of information into clear, concise insights to inform swift decision-making.
Essential qualities include:

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong presentation and reporting skills.
  • Experience in strategy, business planning, or a related analytical role.
