The Role of External Engagement Lead
We are seeking a Communications & Stakeholder Engagement Officer to manage media, parliamentary, and public enquiries, coordinate Freedom of Information (FOI) responses, and deliver strategic engagement with stakeholders including journalists, MPs, think tanks, and international partners.
You will play a central role in shaping public understanding of the OBR’s forecasts, organising press events for the Budget Responsibility Committee, and ensuring our publications reach diverse audiences through digital, print, and stakeholder channels.
Key Responsibilities of External Engagement Lead:
- Manage press, parliamentary, and public enquiries across a range of economic and fiscal issues.
- Lead FOI processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely responses.
- Organise media activity for the Budget Responsibility Committee, including press conferences and interviews.
- Coordinate engagement with advisory panels, international partners, and analytical stakeholders.
- Oversee multi-channel publication delivery, including website and social media.
About You:
You will be a confident communicator with stakeholder engagement experience, able to work collaboratively across teams, adapt to shifting priorities, and explain complex information clearly. An interest in economics, policy, or public affairs is an advantage.
