Leyton Sixth Form College is seeking a Cybersecurity & Connectivity Engineer to lead on all aspects of digital security and network protection. About the Role
As a Cybersecurity & Connectivity Engineer, you’ll take ownership of the college’s digital safety and network integrity. You will be responsible for protecting our systems from evolving cyber threats by implementing, monitoring, and maintaining secure hardware and software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the digital security perimeter of the college using advanced monitoring tools and techniques
  • Proactively detect, analyse, and mitigate cybersecurity threats in real-time
  • Maintain and configure security infrastructure including firewalls, antivirus systems, and intrusion detection tools
  • Ensure network connectivity and performance are stable, secure, and scalable
  • Keep up to date with emerging threats and technologies in the cybersecurity landscape
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure full compliance with security policies and data protection standards

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled professional who can work independently and as part of a supportive IT team.

Essential Skills & Attributes:

  • Proven experience in cybersecurity operations, network management, or IT security roles
  • Strong knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection tools
  • Ability to monitor, investigate, and respond to security incidents
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with staff, students, and external partners
  • Organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
