Director of Future Denim Lab

The Opportunity for Future Denim Lab
Help shape the future of denim through bold innovation and sustainable design. Central Saint Martins, in collaboration with Trendy International Group, is launching the Future Denim Lab in 2025—a pioneering research and knowledge exchange initiative at the intersection of fashion, design, and climate action.

We’re seeking a visionary Creative Director to lead this exciting new Lab, build a world-class team, and drive its direction for the next five years—and beyond.

In this role, you’ll deliver groundbreaking research, knowledge exchange, and real-world impact in regenerative and circular fashion practices. You’ll secure significant external funding, strengthen global partnerships, and ensure the Lab’s work shapes academia, industry, and public discourse. From integrating curriculum contributions across M School courses to overseeing the annual Miss Sixty Future Denim Prizes, you’ll be at the forefront of sustainable innovation and creative education.

About You
You are a bold thinker and an active practitioner in sustainable fashion or textiles, with a strong research background and proven leadership experience in academic or professional environments. You hold a PhD and have a track record of shaping and delivering ambitious research agendas for Future Denim Lab.

You thrive on managing people, projects, and partnerships—securing funding, building collaborations, and communicating complex ideas with clarity and influence. You bring a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and climate justice in all aspects of your work.

Passionate about co-creation, you’ll collaborate with staff, students, and global partners to build a Lab that not only redefines denim but contributes to a more regenerative future of design.
