Lecturer in Smart & Digital Textiles – BA (Hons) Textile Design | UAL

The Role
Join University of the Arts London (UAL) as a Lecturer in Smart and Digital Textiles for BA (Hons) Textile Design. You’ll shape the future of design education by leading teaching and curriculum development in smart textiles, coding, digital workflows, and emerging material technologies. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver practice-based learning that empowers students to explore the intersection of technology, textiles, culture, and sustainability.

As part of your role, you’ll support students through teaching, assessment, and pastoral guidance while contributing to the strategic growth of the course in line with industry innovations and university priorities.

About You
We welcome candidates with:

  • Experience in teaching and assessment in Higher Education.
  • A degree in Textile Design, Smart Textiles, Digital Design, or related field.
  • Expertise in smart textiles, coding, digital tools, and material technologies.
  • Evidence of research, professional practice, or knowledge exchange that advances the discipline.
  • Strong communication, planning, and collaborative skills.
