Senior Negotiating Officer
South East Coast & South London
£66,245 per annum
• Full-time (35 hours)
• Permanent
• Home-based with regional travel
The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) is recruiting a highly motivated and experienced Senior Negotiating Officer to support and represent members across the South East Coast and South London region.
This is a home-based role, requiring candidates to live within or close to the region and be able to travel for meetings, member support and strategic representation. Occasional attendance at the London office is required for in-person collaboration.
About the Role Negotiating Officer
In this impactful position, you will:
- Support, mentor and train stewards, equality and safety representatives across the region
- Advise and empower stewards to manage casework effectively
- Personally manage complex employee relations cases including disciplinaries, grievances, sickness absence, HCPC and legal matters
- Represent CSP at strategic forums such as Social Partnership Forums and Integrated Care Boards/Integrated Care Systems
- Collaborate with fellow Senior Negotiating Officers and cross-directorate teams to deliver local priorities
- This is a challenging yet rewarding role, ideal for someone passionate about protecting member rights, growing union activism, and influencing change in the healthcare sector.

- Significant experience in the trade union movement
- Strong background in member representation or industrial relations
- Excellent advocacy, negotiation and communication skills
- Deep understanding of current workforce issues affecting physiotherapy professionals
- A values-driven individual deeply committed to equity, inclusion, and member empowerment
