Tax Manager – Global Mobility (18-Month FTC)

Location: Kings Cross, London (Hybrid – 3 days office, 2 days remote)

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager – Global Mobility to provide expert guidance to our foreign correspondents and international assignees. You will ensure global tax compliance, manage payroll arrangements, and mitigate employment tax risks in alignment with our tax strategy. This is a hands-on role working closely with the Payroll, People, Legal, Editorial, and global office teams.

Key Responsibilities of Tax Manager:

  • Advise on global mobility tax matters, including residency, income tax, and social security.
  • Oversee compliance with tax laws in home and host countries.
  • Manage tax equalisation, shadow payroll, and monthly reconciliations.
  • Coordinate expatriate tax returns with external advisers.
  • Ensure compliance with Short Term Business Visitor reporting.
  • Support payroll setup for new overseas postings.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external advisers, tax authorities, and auditors.

About You:

  • Strong expertise in income tax and social security for international assignments.
  • Tax/accountancy qualified (e.g., ATT, CTA, ACCA).
  • Skilled communicator with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly.
  • Proactive, confident, and able to work independently.
  • Knowledge of international tax and visa requirements (desirable).
