Digital Communications Manager

We’re looking for an experienced and creative Digital Communications Manager to take ownership of our digital channels and lead our online storytelling. This is a key role in our newly designed structure, supporting our mission to help everyone live healthier, longer lives.
You’ll join the Corporate Communications Team, focusing on the Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation brand — our overarching identity that reflects our endowment, governance, and employer reputation. You’ll play a central role in showing how we use our assets to drive positive change in health.
As our digital expert, you’ll lead the strategy and day-to-day management of our website, social media, and email communications — ensuring our platforms are user-focused, engaging, and aligned with our wider goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage our website, social media channels, and other digital products under the Foundation brand.
- Plan and produce engaging, audience-centred content including copy, images, GIFs, and other multimedia formats.
- Apply UX and content design principles to create user-friendly digital journeys and ensure our content meets audience needs.
- Collaborate with the communications team to support storytelling, campaign rollouts, and content publishing.
- Shape and deliver our digital marketing strategy, working with agency partners on SEO, paid campaigns, and content discoverability.
- Own and evolve our measurement and reporting frameworks to gather insights, track performance, and guide decisions.
- Foster a culture of testing and innovation, exploring new approaches informed by data and digital best practices.
- Manage relationships with external service providers, including developers, designers, and agencies.
What We’re Looking For
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing digital channels and platforms, ideally in a non-profit or purpose-led setting.
- Strong background in content planning and production across web and social media.
- Experience leading digital campaigns or projects that drive reach and engagement.
- Ability to translate complex topics into accessible, engaging content.
- Knowledge of email marketing and digital communications tools.
- Expertise in UX, SEO, content design, digital marketing, and user research.
- Skilled in analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Hotjar, and social media platforms (e.g., Sprout).
- Experience managing stakeholder and agency relationships.
Knowledge & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of user-centred design, accessibility standards, and content governance.
- Familiarity with content management systems, scheduling tools, and email service providers.
- Awareness of current data protection laws and compliance requirements.
- Interest in health equity, digital inclusion, and the role of communications in social change.
